Ann Wilson Solo Project Announces US Concerts; Band to Appear on Public TV Series "The Kate" This Week
Heart singer Ann Wilson's solo project, The Ann Wilson Thing, has announced its first tour dates of 2016. The five shows are all in the northeastern U.S. and run from a March 23 concert in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, through a March 28-29 stand in Annapolis, Maryland.
The dates are scheduled right to launch right after Heart winds down its March tour of Canada with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.
Meanwhile, The Ann Wilson Thing is featured on the latest episode of The Kate, a new performance series that airs on select public television stations and that showcases concerts taped at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. Wilson's show is scheduled to premiere this Friday at 10 p.m. ET; check your local listings to find out if or when the program is airing in your area.
The Ann Wilson Thing's concerts feature Ann singing a variety of favorite cover songs, including tunes by Neil Young, Buffalo Springfield, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin and Peter Gabriel. You can watch a sneak peek of the group performing a version of Franklin's "Ain't No Way" from its episode of The Kate online at TheKate.tv.
